In the Spotlight
----Begin E-Mail----
I got shot at "point blank" range with a .7mm magnum high powered rifle. I was spotlighting deer, and one of my friends who was with me accidentally pulled the trigger. Freak accident, I suppose.
This happened in November of 1999, and it has completely healed now. I have no problems with it at all. Sorry it took so long to post, but i just now found your site.

Editor's Notes:
I don't know if it's a "freak" accident. Here's a quick stat I found and didn't verify. In 1995 there were 1,400 accidental shooting DEATHS. Not accidental shootings, but accidental shooting deaths. That's about 3.84 per day. Somewhat common, in fact, consider yourself "lucky".
Spolighting deer, for those that don't know, is hunting at night by using a bright light to shine on deer. When in a bright light, deer (and many nocturnal animals) freeze. The bright light renders them temporarily blind, so they are afraid to move. This makes them pretty easy targets. And not to add insult to injury, but as an informational message, I don't know anywhere where it's legal to spotlight deer. In some states it's even illegal to do it without a weapon. They call it wildlife harassment. Maybe it's legal in places where deer populations are being controlled.
Anyway, looks like you got shot in about a good a way as possible. Looks to me like it went in one side and out the other, mostly staying in the front. And it's good to know you fully recovered. We'd love to have scar pictures because we love to see how things heal.
