A friend of ours cut a big chunk out of his finger off in October 2001. Apparently he was carving a pumpkin and the pumpkin fought back. I guess he didn't know that they sell child-proof pumpkin carving kits in the grocery store for like 99 cents.

Anyway, he couldn't find the piece of finger that was missing, so he went to the hospital without it. At the hospital they did not do a digital block, but for some reason gave hime an injection directly into the wound (ouch!). After returning from the hospital he heard his wife giggling in the kitchen. He inquired what was so funny and she showed him the piece of finger still stuck to the refrigerator (why we don't have a picture of that I'll never know).
