message: you know i dont want to offend you or anything because you sound like your new to the sport but that was easily avoidable. as time goes on your gonna learn exactly how much power you need on the front and when you use that brake that you need to get over the back tire. and if it was a bike path i dont see how you didnt see the guy and didnt have enough time to make an evasive turn. your not sposed to go above the posted limit on a bike path for exactly that reason. take her out on the street man. its a road bike. ride it on the road

message: I can't count the number of friends I grew up around who had blue or greyish marks in places like thighs and hands, more often from intentional stupidity than simple accidents. One friend stabbed a pencil into her own thigh because one of her friends had gotten one of the blue marks accidentally, and she wanted one too.
