What we want
We want original stories and pictures of your wound experience.
Dictionary.com defines 'wound' (woond) as -"An injury, especially one in which the skin or another external surface is torn, pierced, cut, or otherwise broken".
Torn , pierced, cut and broken all sound good to us, but we would like to loosen the definition slightly. We would also like infections, scrapes (e.g., road rash), broken bones and other injury related pictures. Hell, if you can get a good picture of a nice deep paper cut, we'll even take that. Maybe even burns, but burns kinda freak us out, so we'll see (send it in though). We also want good accounts of how this happened, how it healed (with healing and healed pictures when possible), and how well you recovered (physically and emotionally). We will not print last names and will change first names/blur faces at your request.
We also want naked pictures of your wife/girlfriend/teacher, but we can't post them because our host will kick us off, but send them in anyway, they'll be good for morale ;)
What we don't want
We do not want re-hashed, internet found, photos of dead/mangled/dismembered people. If you have original pictures of dead/mangled/dismembered people, send/sell them to ogrish.com or rotten.com, they are the kings of the underworld. We have no intention of competing with their unnatural powers. But in the interest of equal time, check the Links section for more really disturbing sites which will gladly accept pictures of that nature.
We also don't want pictures of a piece of wood with string wrapped around it or pictures of the coils of an electromagnet. Yes those things are "wound", we get the pun. We love puns, but we already know a few too many smart asses. However, if you happen to injure yourself because you wrapped a string around your arm because you were going to be a wise-aker and send in a pic of your "wound arm" but you were drunk, fell asleep and now your arm is in dire need of medical attention... Now that's a picture and story we'd like to have.
How To Submit
Here's what you do...you send us an e-mail to submit@showmeyourwound.com. You attach your pictures to it.
Notes about the pictures:
- JPG format is best for us right now. However, we can work (in an unskilled manner) with most formats.
- We like 'em fresh. Don't wait until tomorrow, your wound will have healed quite a bit by then.
- We like lots of 'em. Take a picture every week until it is healed, or every day, or whatever, just make sure we know the chronology and timeline of the pictures.
You write us as much as you like about the wound. Things like:
- How it happened, with as much detail as you can
- Medical treatment you received
- How well it has healed (hopefully with pics of this)
We will not use last names, you tell us if we need to change first names and if you want faces blurred.
By submitting pictures ("pictures") to showmeyourwound.com ("showmyourwound.com"), you are indicating that you ("you") have the authority to give, and are in fact giving, permission to post submitted pictures.
Thanks,
the management
